The Damage-Party Berlin/Germany, 30.Juli 1999

I wasn´t really that fussed in going to Berlin as I had to go all by myself, however the evening started quite well when a guy, in the que to the boxoffice, turned around to me and offered me a free ticket. (Thank you to this unknown gentleman) Inside the club SO 36 where Jimmy played, the decor had a football touch. (For those who don´t know Jimmy uses football as a cover theme on his new album and singles)

Jimmy charasmatically opend the concert with the song "Why ?"and the crowded SO 36 club exploded with enthusiasim. I was up front to take a few pictures for the fans of the homepage. Unfortunately, the bouncers up front were a little strict as photos were not allowed to be taken after the first song, however Gillian who is one of the backing singers saw me and pointed me out to Jimmy. Both of them made sure that I could continue taking shots. Jimmy said however that I wasn´t allowed to take a shot of his backside as this would cost a lot of money. Thank you to Jimmy and Gillian for the photo permit.

The following songs were: "Lay Down", "Someday Soon", "Don´t Leave Me This Way", "Something To Live For", "Dark Sky", "Never Can Say Goodbye" and as encore "To Love Somebody", "Stone". A boozy fan gave the audience and Jimmy a laugh when he kept throwing his shirt onto the stage for Jimmy to wear. Jimmy reacted by saying that no one is allowed to be topless that evening. On another occasion, the same fan shouted "Jimmy, Jimmy read my lips please!" Jimmy quick-wittingly answered "I´m reading your lips, what?" There was a big surprise for the audience when ` The Gay Sport Club, Vorspiel (=forplay),Berlin and two drag queens danced onto the stage in football outfits.
This was during the song "Heartbeat". Finally, the last song was "Smalltown Boy" performed slowly by Jimmy. After the concert, two DJs created party mood to close down the evening. That evening was one to remember by Jimmy and his fans.
