Ahaus Freaks ‘n’ Friends on july the 9th 2005
With no kind of driving problem, we arrived at the
festival around 8pm, we tried to be in the very front to be as close as
possible to Jimmy. At last 10pm, he appears on the stage….our hearts
beat very strong. I see him again when I was 15….. an energised bomb. We
tried to draw attention to us by shaking our big french flag….the smile
of Jimmy reassure and make us happy. He sings the famous old songs (You
Make me Feel, Why, I never Can Say…..Don’t Leave Me This Way) and also
To Love Somebody, Come On, Can’t Take My Eyes….Could It B Love.
Including A Mother Less Child in accappela. Between two songs, Jimmy
talked about the G8 meeting last week, he said « it’s not enough »
After
the show, in the dark, we cross the barriers thanks to a barman to get
closer…in the « artists only » land….by chance, marge notices Gunther,
she calls him in a whisper . Soon after, Jimmy appears to say hello and
with emotion I stay having no voice. He held out his hand to me, I was
able to respond to his gesture. After this first contact, we waited
outside so that they can have their diner. Suddenly he appears again and
ask us to follow him, to listen backstage to a rock group. We follow him,
docile ! Relaxed, Marge starts a conversation whereas me, still
hesitating what should I say ! Laurent propose to take the picture in
souvenir of the evening…. Great !
After this, Marge tries and get s what she wants and me too : soon after
jimmy is writing an autograph on my t-shirt…..straight out on my breast…..staggering
! He accepts my little present and gives me in return an unforgottable
hug He seems to be happy to spend some moments with us and realises
suddenly what we had done to be there with him…and we have the luck to
get another hug……the dream continues. After a forced landing, jimmy
kindly accompanies us to the exit, greeting us tenderly….now our mind
reach the sky for a long time…….but we have to find our hotel again in
an unknown country by night!
